The Good
Blast works offers everybody a chance to make their wildest shmup dreams come true. Simple to use editor can be used to create everything from your ow ships to your very own bullet patterns. These editors give you unlimited possibilities when it comes to making your own quality shmup. Even if you don't want to work on your own items in the game, you can always go to internet and download creations from other people.

The Bad
This game is pretty much only for those who are interested or really love shmups. The single player campaign is also really short so if you aren't interested in making your own items or downloading other peoples creations, this game is not for you. Limited space for the downloads and your own creations can be too little if you get really in the mood for creating or downloading items. It's not really too big of a problem but it forces you to delete some stuff every now and then...

The Bottom Line
Basically Blast Works: Build, Trade, Destroy is a create your own shmup kit that offers fans of the genre a possibility to create any kind of shmup they want with the games easy to use editors. The game also comes with a small single player campaign, mostly to make people used to game mechanics that the game uses. (These mechanics are NOT used in every level that you find on the internet) Thankfully you can also download levels from the internet. There are many high quality levels in there that probably deserved to be their own games. The packet is a quality product but may appeal only to those who are fans of the genre.
