a game about bouncing

Moby ID: 34783

Description

a game about bouncing was developed for the 2008 Toronto Game Jam and won the competition. Players control a ball that can be moved around, bouncing into new directions by hitting bumpers and avoiding missiles by dashing. Bumpers disappear when they have been touched. The game is played as a loop of different sequences shown through different background colours. A first key is used to move the ball around (aim and hold), with different possible directions for bumpers designated by white lines and a second key that provides a quick dash.

There are three game modes: normal, free and race. Normal is the only one to feature missiles that chase the player. Upon impact, one of the four lives is lost and the game keeps track of the score. When levelling up the missiles get confused and attack each other. Race is time limited with a set amount of checkpoints per level and Free contains no danger or time restrictions and allows the player to experiment with the controls and the environment. In Free and Normal, a sequence is completed when a set amount of bumpers has been destroyed. The game can be played with the mouse or with a joypad.
