Reforger '88

aka: Reforger '88: NATO Defense of the Fulda Gap
Moby ID: 36238

USSR

**Once every year, NATO forces embark on a military exercise that simulates defense of a Soviet strike into West Germany. Specifically, it tests NATO's ability to transport American reinforcements from the U.S. to the Rhien-Main airbase in Frankfurt. The success of such an operation demands that NATO troops in West Germany withstand the Russian onslaught long enough for the reinforcements to arrive.

The name of this exercise: Reforger.

Now, REFORGER '88' makes the simulation available to every ardent wargamer. The Fulda Gap is chosen as the focal point of the Russian attack.**

Reforger '88™ is a grand-tactical game which means combat is resolved down to every infantry squad, every tank, APC, aircraft, gun and missile system. It is also a game of incredible detail, taking into account all the most advanced weapon systems available to NATO and Russia today. Even "outlawed" chemical warfare is included.

If you're playing the Soviets, you'll have an arsenal of anti-tank guided missiles such as the Sagger and Spandrel. You'll also have use of the SA-6 and SA-8 surface-to-air missiles. Your tanks include the potent T-80 and T-72. The MiG-23, SU-24 and MI-24 make up part of your air group.

As the NATO commander, your ATGMs include the Dragon and Milan; your SAMs, the Roland, Hawk and Patriot; your tanks, the Abrams M-1, M-60A3 and Leopard; your combat planes, the F-15, F-111, Tornado, and AH-64. Speaking of planes, every air squadron is categorized by its specific aircraft.

Two scenarios are provided: Surprise Attack and Advance Warning.

During solitaire play, the computer directs the Russians.
