Oz: The Magical Adventure - Interactive Storybook
Description
Oz the Magical Adventure: Interactive Storybook is a piece of learning-to-read software that reuses many of the graphics and sounds from Oz the Magical Adventure. The program begins by allowing children to choose whether they want to read themselves or be read to by the narrator. Also they can choose between three levels of reading difficulty, though all difficulty levels are about at first grade -- the sentences just get a bit longer.
Regardless which version is picked, the game presents a very abbreviated summary of L. Frank Baum's classic, accompanied by animated illustrations. These illustrations are interactive in that there are hotspots which can be clicked to give small rewards. For instance, clicking a weather vane will cause it rotate. As such, the only interactive game element in this title are the animated reward for exploring the illustrations. It also includes printable stickers, invitations, writing paper and color-in pictures.
