GERMAN TANKS since dawn have been thrusting into allied lines at points over a 60-mile front from the River Roer to Luxembourg. It seems the Germans have decided to launch a counter-offensive of some considerable strength. They are throwing in a fresh division of infantry, and these men, with the tanks, have overrun a number of villages and made several wedges on the Belgian-German and Luxembourg German borders. The Germans are pressing forward fanatically with an order of the day from von Rundstedt saying: "Now is the time for the German Army to strike. Give your all in one last effort. Everything is at stake" * Realistic sound effects * One or two players/Save Game function * German Saboteurs/Siegfried Line * Artillery Supply/Terrain effects * V-2 Rocket attacks

Early in December 1944 America was awaiting the return of its victorious armies in Europe. but on the other side of the Siegfried Line, Hitler had other plans, launching his last major surprise attack of the war â operation "Wacht am Rhein". The plan was to quickly strike weakened Allied lines in Belgium and Luxembourg and to break through and move quickly to the Meuse to capture the Liege and finally Antwerp. The capture of Antwerp was thought to be essential to postpone the invasion of Germany, giving the Fuhrer a chance to honor his promises of secret weapons which would win the war.

COMMENTARYGermany sends in their best men
Bugle Staff Reporter
S.H.A.E.F., Sunday. - Rundstedt is obviously basing high hopes on the counter-offensive against the First US. Army. Some of his best men and material have been committed.
He clearly believes that if his attack goes well he may force us to divert men from other parts of the front. halt the slow progress to the Rhine, and gain time.
No doubt the German War leaders calculate also on disappointment being caused among public in Britain and America. They still base great hopes on political warfare.### FEATURES
