Description

Maui Wowee is a tile matching game, where players have to match three or more flowers of the same type to make them disappear. The main game screen shows a large grid, with each slot filled with a flower. Every new level has a different grid layout, but the objective is always to break the background and transform it into a valuable metal, by creating matches over it using one of the two ways of playing the game. In slide mode, the player has to drag rows and columns with the mouse to make matches. In swap mode, the player has to select two adjacent flowers to swap their positions and create a match. The player can access the options menu to switch between the modes at anytime.

Some butterflies rest over a bamboo shaft, at the bottom right of the screen. They act as a power-up, and can be dragged and dropped over one of the tiles to carry it away, transforming the background to gold. Matches of four flowers create a bomb that explodes when used in a match, destroying surrounding tiles. A five-flowers match creates a bomb and gives an extra butterfly.

The tiles turn into bronze, silver or gold, their more precious transformation depending on the number of moves made to create the match, and the number of flowers eliminated. The game comes with a integrated level editor, the option of playing custom MP3 files as the background music and can be set as the default screensaver.
