WMD Tank Battle

WMD Tank Battle is a multiplayer map conquest/strategy browser game. The player moves a tank through numerous sectors in a persistent galaxy, the goal being to conquer maps by destroying enemy command posts. Once sectors are conquered, the player can build economy and defensive units as well as command posts of their own, which other players in the game will encounter. The strategy element of the game is based on unit choice and placement in each sector, the idea being to make maps that are difficult for others to conquer.

The user interface uses AJAX technology and has a graphical representation of each map with moving units and animations, in contrast to many browser games that use static HTML and forms. Each planet also has a world map, where players can fight each other in real-time with ICBMs and interceptors that move across the screen in a Missile Command-style mini-game. Other features include various technology upgrades for the main tank and units, and UFOs that move autonomously, attacking enemy sectors while the player is offline.
