PlayStation version

Naughty Dog does the same, but with something new.

The Good
Crash is back for the third time on Playstation, but is it a new game or is it just a copy of "Crash 2"? It may sound like that when you first start the game and the plot unfolds.

Yet again Cortex, Crash' enemy, is trying to collect all of the crystals and gems and conquer the world. Crash must collect the crystals and gems and stop Cortex. So far this game is the same as it's forerunner, but I will shortly explain that this game is different than the previous one.

The look, story and many features are still the same as before, but some things have changed. In "Crash 2", if I remember correctly, you only had one vehicle. But here you have several. Including a jet ski, a motorbike, an airplane and a sort of UFO. As before you also ride several animals through some levels. I say several, for in "Crash 2" you only had one animal, Polar, to ride. Now you can ride Pura the tiger and a baby dinosaur. And for the first time Coco has become a playable character. All of this increases the variation of the entire game.

The Bad
Very few things with this game are bad, but there was one new feature which I didn't find good. After the completion of a level, you can enter it again and race through it as fast as you can to beat the time limit. If you do, you win a relic. You have to collect all of the relics in order to fully complete the game. This produces a lot of stress, when you have to watch out for the enemies and at the same time keep your eye on the clock. But not to worry, it doesn't take long to learn how to complete these races.

The Bottom Line
If you liked "Crash 2", then you should play this game. That way you would get "Crash 2" with something new thrown in.
