Rocket Racer

In Rocket Racer the player takes control over a rocket and absolves 15 missions which are basically checkpoint races. The rocket moves on its own and the player has to change the altitude with the mouse and move the rocket left and right with the keyboard keys. He can also accelerate or brake if he wishes but it always stays in a certain speed area. On the way there are overall ten kinds of gates to fly through, e.g. a teleport gate which teleports the rocket to another part of the level, standard gates which give a time bonus or arcade doors which open and close. Some gates need a key to open; the goal of the mission is to find the exit gate.

On the way the player also has to avoid bumping into asteroids. If the rocket hits them or a gate the life energy decreases and if it reaches zero the player loses a life. The same happens if the time runs out. There are also six power-ups to pick up which give either a health bonus, an extra live, a weapon to shove asteroids away, a turbo boost or a protection shield.
