Great concept, flawed execution.

The Good
The freedom: You can really try to achieve your objective of overthrowing the President in any way you want, from assassination of his close generals etc and then him, to using rebels to storm the Presidential Palace when they get strong enough.

The living world: Every NPC lives his own life, going to work, going to a bar, going home and sleeping etc, getting arrested and such, this adds greatly to the immersion for me.

The gaming world: The world is literally HUGE, which also adds to immersion and the replay-value of the game.

The Bad
User interface: The UI is very cumbersome and takes a lot of patience to get used to, the game could have used some more keyboard shortcuts. For example if you are assigning a mission to an agent and then change your mind you have to go all the way back to agent assignment, select your agent and deselect him. You can not simply right-click to deselect him for example.

Saves: You can only have one save at any time, ONE SAVE, that is bad enough in other games, but in a game like this where you need to save often in case you fuck up, it makes it even worse. I do not know if the devs didn't think off it or if they simply made it intentionally to increase the difficulty.

Tracking: It is a real pain in the bottom to keep track off who is doing what etc in the game world, if you want to play this game properly you pretty much HAVE to keep your own notes on your computer or on papers IRL. Whilst I can bear this I think it is not good to force people to have to do this to be able to properly enjoy the game.

The Bottom Line
The game has great potential with its living world and open-ended structure, sadly this potential is almost completely destroyed by the incredibly poor UI and the fact that it's very hard to keep track of what's going on in the game world.

End opinion: If you are looking for an easy to get into strategy-romp then this is not for you. However if you like me have a strong interest in revolutions and coups etc, then once you get accustomed to having to keep notes and the poor UI you will be in for an enjoyable experience.
