This is a stealth mine. There's a lot of these about. They seem to dodge energy blasts and sneak up on Sed's blind side

Shot something, not sure what because there's so much out here to shoot at, but whatever it was it's no more.
The squares are pieces of debris and the blobby bits are missile trails. This looks much better in the game than a still shot like this.
