Strategy guide
The game's title screen
This is displayed as the game loads. It is followed by a login screen and the main menu
The game configuration screen
The game has subtitles to the dialogue so the sound can be disabled
One of the bonus items is the concept art, of which this is an example. scrolling will show the completed artwork. then another piece of concept art etc. Bonus items are not locked
The 3D sections are optional, the game can be played entirely with that option disabled if required
This is the start of the game's introduction with 3D enabled
These are the four game characters
All dialogue is subtitled
One of the key tools that the player will use is 'Glyph Vision', goggles that will show hotspots
The first 3D puzzle does not have to be played in 3D. It's a sort of speed puzzle, matching the glyphs from the bottom to the symbols as they slide past on the four upper rows
Another tool the player will use is the time amulet.
In some puzzles the player must restore items to the state they used to be in in the past
Here the time amulet has been deployed to show that there is a hidden entrance
Occasionally the player will get stuck. On the left is a hint feature which sends a swirl of sand towards one of the remaining objects. Once used it takes a while to recharge
On the left, just above Laura, is the excavation journal of her aunt which contains some useful information
So now all the characters are in the temple and are separated. The player must now play through each of their chapters separately until they all meet up again.
Playing Francis' chapter
All rooms are named which helps with navigation
When there's a doorway the player is shown the MOVE icon
The player has just completed a hidden object search in the cupboard on the left. Some of the items found are added into the inventory. The inventory numbers show how many of each object must be found
There is a 'Simon Says' type of puzzle in this game
A neat feature is that, in the early chapters, one character will come across a puzzle like this which cannot be solved until they meet up with another character
When an item sparkles it means there is a puzzle of some sort there
Another traditional puzzle, set all the lights to the same colour.
The strategy guide says this puzzle is different every time it is played
There are lots of items to collect so it is very helpful to know when everything that a room has been cleared. The in-game map shows rooms as red by default and green when they're cleared
The torture chamber
The inventory numbers show how many of each object must be found, still lots to do.
What adventure game woud be complete without a maze?
Here the player uses the keyboard to navigate the pet cat through the maze tripping all the glowing switches
The family is now re-united. That means the inventories have all merged but there's still a lot to find
At some point in the game the player will take-on the computer at a game of Senet
That's how we escape, the royal barge, but first it has to be fixed
Are we missing some important screenshots?
