H.E.R.O.

Roderick Hero, at your service but, please, call me R. Hero. Everyone else does. This Windows version of H.E.R.O. is based on the Atari XL version but was reprogrammed for Windows by hand. There is no emulator. It is not authorized by Activision.. The game is entirely controlled by the keyboard.

The gameplay remains the same. The main character must enter and descend a mine to find and rescue the trapped miner. To do this, he is equipped with a helicopter backpack, a helmet-mounted laser and a limited supply of dynamite. The encounters include snakes, spiders and other nasties that can kill with a touch but can be killed by the character's laser. Other hazards include water and magma. Power is limited so there can be no delay.
