DOS screenshots
The game's menu
One of the game configuration screens
There are pauses in the game as levels load. Sometimes these are represented by a static screen, other times by one that's animated.
When starting a game the player must first enter their name. The initial name is a line of a's and the player scrolls through the letters with the up/down keys
Before a new game commences there's an animated sequence showing Mister Dark stealing the Magic Book of Knowledge.
The Tree of Worlds. To the left are training options in Betilla's Garden. Going Up statts Art Alley, going right starts the cave thing
The first area of Betilla's Garden is a place to practice jumping
Here Rayman is using his Super Helicopter power
At the start of each activity the Wizard explains what Rayman has to do. He will disappear but the instructions can be repeated by returning to this spot.
Here Rayman must choose between two words
The word 'bat' was chosen in the previous screen shot. Looks like a good choice because Rayman is able to progress
This is Betilla the fairy, the other character who helps and advises Rayman
Rocky Road: Where Rayman must smash the boulder with the correct word on it
Art Alley: Rayman must choose the word that starts with a 'f' sound in order to begin.
Art Alley: Rayman has found the photographer. When his picture has been taken a save point within this level is created. If he loses a life he will return here and not to the start
Art Alley: Rayman makes his choice by hitting the paintbrush marker near the word. This works like the points on a railway system and routes him further into the level, or onto spikes
Some of the bad guys who will attack Rayman as he progresses through the game
Pebble Peril: Here Rayman must get off when the platform passes the correct numbered path. Unfortunately the number was 46 so he's doomed
Pebble Peril: Having selected the correct path the object is now to follow the blue things to the next question
Are we missing some important screenshots?
