The Suspense II
Description
The Suspense II is the sequel to The Suspense and just like the first game it is a puzzle platformer where a character needs to be guided through ten levels. He can only move around and jump, but time needs to be manipulated to solve puzzles in the environment in order to progress. The three time periods from the first game have now been limited to two. At any given moment the player can switch between two time periods. Each period looks different, but the overall level design is the same. When there is a gap in the past, a bridge may have been built in the present. The periods no longer directly reference time, but rather allow the player to switch between two realities: life and death. In later levels the switching needs to be done more quickly to climb platforms, use jump pads and moving platforms, or to grab keys. Things can also be transported through time periods. A crate from the present can for instance be dragged into the past. When dead, the character immediately respawns.
Compared to the first game there are now story elements, usually about the theme of death. A character in one time period can be talked to, but in the other he is hanged for instance. It is also often required to retrieve items to have characters help out. There are no longer different difficulty levels.
