SARGON: A COMPUTER CHESS PROGRAM

Dan and Kathe Spracklen
Adapted for the TRS-80 Level II by Paul Lohnes

This program, SARGON, easily won the 1978 West Coast Computer Faire Chess Tournament. Complete and unambiguous documentation covering all algorithms can be found in a separate guide entitled: SARGON: A COMPUTER CHESS PROGRAM. This guide contains a complete table of contents, a block diagram of the program, a 4-part introduction, a Z-80 assembly language listing of the program, and an index to the subroutines. With the program proper, the 50 subroutines are fully annotated, so that it is very easy to follow the logic of the program.

The user can play black or white, and can select the depth of look-ahead, from one to 6 ply. Moves are entered in algebraic chess notation. You can even set up board positions for chess problems.
