Definitely a fun and enjoyable all around gaming experience. If you’re looking for a good platformer, you’d be hard pressed to find a better one, and this one will be a good buy and will provide hours of amusement for just about anyone. Hey
if someone like me who doesn't even like platformers can enjoy it as much as I have, I’m sure that you will too.

Worth Playing (8.1 out of 10)

Pac-Man World 2 is an adventure/platforming game complete with a Super Mario Bros 3 type world map. The in-game play-control style is fully 3D but is also similar to SMB3 in the sense that it offers top-notch, well thought out, running-and-jumping dynamics. What keeps this game from being in the same league as the classics however is its unbalanced difficulty and short life span. For how well the game looks, it is pleasantly surprising to find gameplay that is equally appealing. PW2's nagging camera issues are somewhat diminished by the fact that the game actually lets you know when the camera is only partly functional or completely inoperable, by means of an on-screen notification.

Game Over Online (81 out of 100)

Pac-Man World 2 feels like it was influenced from games like Crash Bandicoot, Super Mario World, Sonic Adventure, Klonoa, and even Super Monkey Ball. What is surprising is that Namco was able to extract all the fundamentally entertaining aspects of these games without botching the project along the way. Not to say that Namco has a tendency to churn out poorly executed titles, but even the most respected companies sometimes set they're sights a little too high -- State of Emergency and Ehrgeiz for example. The only detrimental thing that this game has inherited from its predecessors is the sometimes-in-the-way camera issues.

Pac-Man World 2 takes dot eating to a whole new level, making this 3D version of an arcade classic a nostalgia trip worth taking. Namco’s portly Pac-Man travels through six vibrant worlds and uses ice skates, turbo rolls, butt bounces, and more in his quest to retrieve golden fruit stolen by Spooky, a ghost of monstrous proportions. Maneuvering Pac-Man can be difficult at times since the controls are ber sensitive a bit too much pressure on the analog stick can easily send Pac-Man careening over an icy cliff.

GameSpot (7.9 out of 10)

Pac-Man World 2 is a great platform game overall, one that anybody who's into the lighthearted style of the game would do well to check out. There are a fair bit of extras packed in as well, which extends its longevity--the most significant of these is an arcade full of classic emulated Pac-Man games, which you'll find in Pac-Village. This GameCube version is essentially identical to the PS2 version, with just one exception: Ghost monsters no longer kill you instantly if you touch them when not under the influence of a power pellet. Rather, you'll just lose one pip of health. While this makes some of the sequences a little bit easier, it doesn't really have that much of an effect either way. It's still quite a fun game, and anyone who's the least bit excited by the history of gaming and the sights and sounds that started it all should enjoy it.

FĂŒr Fans des gelben Wuslers fĂŒhrt kein Weg an Pac Man World 2 vorbei.

Pac-Man is too short. I found the levels really short and a little straightforward. The levels are fairly easy and the controls are a snap to memorize. Though the levels are short and easy they provide a fair amount of enjoyable fun. One of the best features in the game was the exciting arcade mini games. The more tokens you find in your adventure, the more classic Pac-Man arcade games you can unlock and enjoy! Overall I found the gameplay fairly amusing, but if it weren't for the arcade games I would have given it a lower score. Overall- Pac-Man World 2 is a definite rental, and do not buy this game unless you are a real hardcore Pac-Man fan.

IGN (7 out of 10)

I like Pac-Man World 2. It's a fun, if formulaic 3D platformer. It follows all the rules right down to what kinds of levels are available. But it executes on the control and design elements of the experience much better than other, more recent platformers have. Of course I know there's not a whole lot of originality packed into this title, but what's there is still for the most part very entertaining. It's even fairly pretty. The game's biggest problem is that it has also introduced a camera system that is relatively unchanged from countless 3D platformers before it, which leads to some disorienting views at points. The only other gripe I've got is that the experience ends a bit too abruptly for my own tastes. Five hours or so and it's all over. To its credit, though, there are some collectibles to be had and the arcade emulations extend replay value.

So in all Pac-Man World 2 is a fun and easy game to get into, don’t let the "kiddy" look of the game fool you, it does have some depth just get past the childish image.

Oldies Rising (13 out of 20)

Game Informer Magazine (5.5 out of 10)

Since Namco obviously didn't put any effort into fixing Pac-Man World 2 when bringing it over to GameCube, I've decided to do a quick "port" of my review of the PS2 versions from last month: "It's hard to pinpoint just where this game went wrong, but I think it has something to do with the decision to move away from the essentially side-scrolling nature of the first Pac-Man World. Of course, this is much more difficult to accomplish, and the developers failed to develop a camera system capable of dealing with the 3D action. Don't call it a comeback, because it's not. "Yep, it still sucks.
