PolyFauna

PolyFauna is an experimental game based on the music of the British band Radiohead. It was created from the sessions on the album The King of the Limbs and uses imagery and remixed sounds from the song Bloom. The game consists of a series of strange worlds linked together. They are filled with mountains, trees, shapes and swimming creatures. Using the gyroscope the player can look around in any direction by moving and rotating the device. Moving forward is done automatically. It is also possible to draw and swipe on the screen to create shapes. These sometimes interact with the world, breaking up into pieces or turning into creatures that continue on their own. To progress to a new environment the player has to locate a floating red dot and keep it into focus for a certain amount of time. Then the screen shatters and a new environment is presented. This concept is looped indefinitely, with 31 different variations in total.
