Battlezone II: Combat Commander

Battlezone 2 has an interesting story behind it that encompasses many worlds. On a macro level, the objective of the game is to win the war between the ISDF and the Scions. On a more basic level, the game is about personal advancement. The game begins when you, a shiny new lieutenant fresh out of Officer's Candidate School, are assigned to investigate the over-run outpost. In the beginning of the game you spend a lot of your time in direct combat --learning the controls of your vehicles and how to order your wingmen around. As the game progresses, you are promoted to more important roles. Eventually, you command entire bases, manage resources and order your troops where and when to attack. From a gameplay standpoint, the ramp-up in difficulty will be more gradual than it was in Battlezone.
