Dark Dimensions: Somber Song

Dark Dimensions: Somber Song is a story about a town where seven musical prodigies all children perished in a school fire. The player just so happens to be staying in a hotel just outside of town. Your stay is interrupted by a frantic pounding at the door. It is what appears to be a terrified young girl rambling about some strange events that has inundated the town. Suddenly she is encircled and taken by some cloud of supernatural black smoke then whisks her away right before your eyes. Compelled to help the young girl you begin your journey to investigate the town. You quickly learn of the past school fire and the odd circumstances about that tragic past event. The spirits of the children lost in the fire are enchanted into objects and places which they appear to you in short snippets that provide unique insight of the past and dangers to avoid. What controls this evil black smoke and what truly caused the school fire?

The game style is one of hidden object puzzle adventure with hidden object scenes enabling event sequences or yielding needed items to assist the player. The Hidden object scenes are somewhat different. You have color words at the bottom of the scene with the colors denoting if the object is part of a sequence. Scene objects must be opened, combined and/or used with other items in proper order to complete the scene. Movement through the adventure is accomplished by with on-screen touch points or by use of the game map which allows for quick location jumps to any place already explored.
