On levelling up you earn points to upgrade your spells
In the first huge (scrolling) level, I found a chest!
Nice, the purple potion is adding one life point permanently
The yellow gem is the exit to the next deeper level. The rat is in the way...
Casting a spell: 8 fields can be filled and each spell has a pattern. I choose an electric damage spell, casted in direction of the rat
You can get additional information on completing a level. Taking more steps and damage reduces the points rewarded
The story is told between the levels
Although the spider level is cleared, there is still the first boss -- a very fast spider with lot of health
