The intro cutscene introduces us to the “Botany Labo,” on a dark and stormy night
A scientist type peruses the bookshelves within the Botany Labo
There is a tomato plant here! Also beakers, test tubes and a skeleton!
Uh-oh, a tomato just fell into some purple goo inside a lovingly-rendered beaker!
Our scientist type seems puzzled!
Kaboom!
…and here he is! Our captain! The hero of the hour!
Our scientist is looking a bit worse for wear after that transformation
And we hit a bright purple swirly title screen!
We get a look at the “ranking” screen
Captain Tomaday takes on the first level in the attract mode
Captain Tomaday beating up some bats with his Rayman-style firsts
The configuration screen offers us “Easy,” “Normal,” “MVS” and “Hard” difficulties. One wonders if those are in order!
The “How to Play” screen points us to the joystick
Left punch is “A”
and right punch is “B!”
After attaining a clone power-up, you can change formation with “C”
Captain Tomaday leaps into action on Stage 1, where a speed limit is enforced?
Punching robots above a train with your own name on it is no way for a tomato to behave
The robots were too much for our Captain, as we get a continue screen
The Game Over screen takes place in front of a green wall
We’re asked if we want to save our data
Are we missing some important screenshots?
