Zap!2000
Description
Zap!2000 is a vertically scrolling shoot 'em up and a remake of Astraware's monochrome Palm OS shooter Zap! As in other games of its kind the player controls a space ship from the bottom to the top while shooting at the various enemies that come into his path. The player has access to a primary fire as well as shields and nukes. Once activated the shields make the player invulnerable for a short time. Nukes when launched will destroy everything on the screen, both enemies and their projectiles. The ship can be moved left and right and is also equipped with thrust that sends it forward in short bursts.
By shooting a complete wave of enemies, they will drop items that the player can collect. These include coins that traded for bonus points at the end of a level, powerup crystals that upgrade the ship's weapons, shields and nukes. Each level ends with a boss fight. Bosses behave in different ways with different ways of attacking and they also have their own weaknesses.
