There is excellent in-game help available via the side menu bar
The player can select words by clicking on the puzzle or by scrolling through the clue list at the bottom of the screen
The puzzle will not allow the player to enter an incorrect letter, here they were attempting to enter the second letter of 3 Down.
Words can thus be solved by trial and error
