Dancing to transform, a feature that returns to the series after being absent in <moby game="Shantae and the Pirate's Curse">Shantae and the Pirate's Curse</moby>.

Dancing transformed me into a monkey!

In monkey form, Shantae can climb walls.

The second stage, a stormy desert.

Dancing here transforms Shantae into the all-new crab, this being the first game to feature it.

As a crab, Shantae can go underwater. She can slowly sink to the bottom in order to catch all the gems on the way down.

This part of the level features a strong wind mechanic. It will annoy you.

The third level, in which Shantae is sliding down a...slide of some sort. She must avoid the rolling barrels.

Sometimes the slide will stop, forcing her to jump.

Every once in a while this reptilian guy will drop by and throw fish at you.

The update adds a fourth level, which appears to be Scuttle Town.

Fighting Tinkerbats.

The out-of-reach Tinkerbats throw torches.
