Career Mode starts with selecting a team to manage. The default team is called Warriors but can be customised before the start of the season

In Career mode it seems as though the players are ficticious

Player stats for one of the fictitious players found in Career mode. Plenty of room for improvement here

In Career mode the player does manage the club finances but not to the same depth as in a full-on management sim. For example there's no starting balance, advertising revenue or wages here

The opposing teams in Career mode use real names. Benetton Treviso are Italian and Bristol Shoguns is the name used by Bristol Rugby in the 2001-2 season when they were sponsored by Mitsubishi.
