Guntu Western Front June, 1944
Description
Guntu Western Front June, 1944 is a first person rail shooter set during World War II. It takes place in occupied France just prior to the invasion of Normandy and the task in each of the game's six levels is to destroy a certain target, usually some sort of tank or other heavily armoured object.
Like in other rail shooters the movement through the levels are automatic and all the player has to do is move a crosshair and shoot down the various German soldiers and vehicles that attack him. Two weapons are available at any time: a rapidly firing machine gun and a far slower rocket launcher. Ammo is available in unlimited quantities but has to be reloaded which happens automatically when the player releases the trigger. The game is time based and lacks both hit points and lives. Instead taking damage leads to time being removed and when it reaches zero the game is over (although there is a continue option to restart the current level). But time is also added to the clock when enemies are shot down.
