Ketnet Junior

Ketnet Junior is a large collection of content from Ketnet, the brand used for all VRT broadcasted children's programmes by VRT, the national public-service broadcaster for the Flemish Region and Community of Belgium. It contains TV episodes, activities and games based on brands such as Bob the Builder, Boris en Binti, Bumba, De Wilton, Dobus, Dimitri, Frits & Frats, Het zandkasteel, Hopla, Kaatje, Mousti, Nellie en Cezar, Prinsessia, Samson, Tik Tak, Uki and more. The app is meant to be installed and started by a parent who can make a profile for one or more children. The parent chooses a profile picture and determines the sex and age as the content is adapted to show what is most relevant for that age first (from five to nine). The app also grows with the child, providing different content when the child grows older. Content can also be favourited to keep it together for a child to find it back easily. To alter the profile settings a math problem needs to be solved. The game is entirely in Dutch.

Next to the many TV episodes and clips there are colouring plates and memory games based on the franchises. Certain content, such as a short clip, is unlocked after completing an activity. The memory games have multiple difficulty levels. The game also incorporates the six short games released earlier through Kaatje van Ketnet (a Frogger variant, an interactive farm, a rocket racer, a sheep herding game, a balloon shooter, a maze game). They are entirely identical, except that the rocket racer is now controlled through on-screen arrows instead of tilting the device. Unlike Kaatje van Ketnet it is only available for tablets. Certain content is grouped by a common theme such as nature or vehicles.
