Main menu (demo version, the only difference is that the full version doesn't have the "buy full version" option).
Starting a new game. For the first time in this series you can choose between a male and female characters and between the four different factions. (demo)
The first few pop-up screens tell your backstory and introduce you to the history and current events in this war-ridden sector. (demo)
A map of the Finis system. Note derelict ghostship. Similar random special events and locations have been added in Smugglers 3. (demo)
Your ship info. Each faction starts with a different ship and has access to some different ship types. (demo)
Planet info screen. Each planet has a technological rating which limits the equipment it can sell. The number of factories and mines is useful to traders. (demo)
I've plundered the ghostship and got some items for me to sell. You may loot derelict or defeated enemy ships. (demo)
Your system trade screen will tell you the prices of each item in the system. A similar screen exists for inter-solar trade. (demo)
Landing on a planet. Here you can buy all your necessary items, hire a crew, visit the bank and much more. (demo)
You can buy upgrades for every part of your ship - from weapons to your cargo bay. Item availability is determined by your faction and the planet's tech rating. (demo)
Some equipment will allow you to carry out different missions, such as a passenger bay that will enable you to ferry passengers for a fee. (demo)
You can buy new ships on planets. They are also limited by faction, tech and rank, and fall into two main categories - battleships or traders. (demo)
There are many available missions, but they fit 4 types: search&destroy, scout, transport and protect missions (where you defend a location for a set time). (demo)
I've accepted a search&destroy mission and found my target. This fight is inevitable. With friendly ships you can choose to talk to, scan, attack or flee from them. (demo)
Combat screen. Each action costs Action Points. The distance between the ships is related to engine performance and greatly affects weapons accuracy. (demo)
Success! In addition to regular rewards, I also get fame (which determines my rank) and reputation (which determines how a faction sees me). (demo)
The personal info screen tells you many important details, including which factions are currently at war with your own. (demo)
After enough fame is gathered you'll be promoted. Higher ranks allow you to command better ships and gives more "lives" to use when you're defeated in combat. (demo)
News screens pop up randomly to tell you of important events, lucrative opportunities or recent developments in the war. (demo)
The star map shows the jump points connecting the star systems, the faction that owns them and the approximate prices of goods in them. (demo)
