Kowloon's Gate
Description
Kowloon's Gate is an adventure game based on Taoism and other concepts from Chinese philosophy and religion. The story takes place in 1997, when the destroyed Kowloon Walled City suddenly reappears and threatens to bring about catastrophe by throwing yin and yang out of balance. The player character is a feng shui practitioner who has been tasked with identifying and correcting the spiritual disturbances that caused Kowloon to reemerge.
Gameplay consists of exploring the city and its dungeons, gathering items to solve puzzles, and quelling restless spirits. The latter activity involves a battle system in which the player manipulates the five elements to defeat the spirit and restore balance to the immediate area.
