Microzine Jr. #2
Description
Microzine Jr. is an educational disk-based magazine for students under age 10 published by Scholastic starting in 1988. Each issue generally contains a simple adventure game, often with a Choose Your Own Adventure Style. Issues also contain software to initialize a data disk, as well as letters to the editor. Issue no. 2 contains:* Crickety Manor: A side-scrolling adventure game, where the player starts in their local library reading a scary book. On the way home, the player hears a voice crying for help from Crickety Manor. The player explores the numerous rooms of the house, and can walk, jump, and climb up and down stairs. The player can take and use items, with the goal of placating the various ghosts which haunt the mansion.
- Graph Maker: Allows the user to make pictographs and bar graphs.
- Math Ani-Mall: The player can visit a number of animal-run stores, and must give the correct change using quarters, dimes, nickels, and pennies.
- Micro Mystery: The Case of the Garden Plot: Someone chopped the heads off of Iris' petunia prior to the garden show. The player must examine a picture for clues, and answer a number of questions to determine the culprit.
