This collection is named after the 1960 Western movie The Magnificent Seven, a cowboy adaptation of Akira Kurosawa's Seven Samurai. Curiously, none of the seven games included cover themes of cowboys /or/ samurai, though the film version of The Great Escape does share many cast and crew with The Magnificent Seven.
