Globetrotter
- Globetrotter (1990 on Amiga, Commodore 64, 2019 on Antstream)
Description
Globetrotter plays similar to the Backpacker series. You start the game as a new member in the Globetrotter Club. Your objective is now to become the president. To do so you will have to complete various tasks that you are assigned by the club. Your job is to take pictures of famous sights all over the world. For these you will get money and experience which is used to reach more far away locations.
There's three levels to complete before you can become the president. Starting out as a novice you will only be able to travel within the Nordic countries. Once enough assignments has been completed more European cities will be unlocked.
As you travel around the world, you will need a place to sleep. Each place you visit has both expensive hotels and cheaper budget hotels that might take time to find if you haven't visited the location before. However if you wander around at night time, there is a risk of being assaulted by thieves and thus losing your money. To earn money you will need to take jobs. This is done by answering questions about the profession. In total the game contains more than 4000 questions.

Compatibility
The early versions of the game (Swedish/Danish release named 'Traveler') are not 64-bit compatible, as they use 16-bit executables, but they work in a Virtual PC Windows 98 environment. The English language version called 'Globetrotter' that came out later, is 32 bit compliant, and can be run in 64-bit Windows.
