Developer of Gunpoint, Tom Francis, claims that he recouped the direct costs of game development ($30 for a copy of GameMaker 8) in the first 64 seconds the game went on sale. In fact, he earned so much money from Gunpoint he quit his day job as a writer at PC Gamer.
