This is a great puzzle game
but it's a great $5 puzzle game. I think $10 is just too much and hopefully the price will come down.. Plus it seems like the iPod version has more features while costing half the price of the iPhone version. If you're into puzzle games though, Star Trigon is a different and challenging alternative.
There are plenty of power-ups to keep you on your toes, but after awhile the repetitive Japanese style video game music does get on your nerves. The game looks beautiful, but is very bright and colorful, often confusing you if you're just getting into the game. It's a steep price, but if you like cartoony games, check this one out.
Were this a budget title that only cost a couple of quid, it'd be far easier to recommend, but at full price the gameplay is ultimately too shallow to justify the expense. A shame, really, as casual gamers would undoubtedly pass an enjoyable, if forgettable few minutes circulating in space, but for that kind of money we need more.
The final word on Star Trigon is that it's a good game at $4-5, but a pretty mediocre one at $10. There aren't that many $10 games left on the App Store, and the ones that are still hanging on at that price point have big licenses, extremely fancy 3D graphics, or both. Star Trigon is a dead license, and while it is a good game, it won't blow your socks off. Unless you've played the arcade game and love it or are a huge Anime fan, we suggest waiting for a price drop.
