aka: 3D Darts, Raymond van Barneveld: Elite Darts
Moby ID: 4818
Windows Specs

Description official description

A darts game pure and simple. You view the board from a 1st person perspective and through a mouse motion-based system (similar to the mouse swings in golf games) you throw your darts. You can play in a variety of locations ranging from pubs, basements, pool hall, etc. complete with ambience noises, or try a 16-player knockout tournament. Also included are numerous options to tweak the games to your heart's content, such as setting score caps, doubling, and different types of dart games such as Cricket, Baseball darts, etc.

Supports multiplayer gameplay for up to 4 players via modem, serial connection, TCP/IP or through MSN Gaming Zone with a patch.

The UK GSP Jewel Case release

The Good
The game has novel mechanics, I haven't seen another darts game use the ghost arm approach before. In full screen mode it works well.

The rest of the game is OK but not spectacular. The ambient sound is OK, the environments are OK and nothing else sticks in the mind.

I could not test the on-line gaming mode which, I think, is where the game would have stood apart from other darts games

The Bad
Using the mouse to aim and throw the darts is OK in full screen mode but in windowed mode I kept grabbing off screen icons on my desktop which was a problem because
1. it meant I dropped the dart 2. I had to close them down before I could continue the throw

The Bottom Line
Probably very good in its time but now, in 2019, just a curiosity with little play value
