Robin Steele the Waifu Thief

Robin Steele the Waifu Thief is an entry in the 2014 Crystal Games Challenge, a 48-hour game jam for fangames based on the TV show My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic. The theme of the challenge was "You are the villain."

In this action fangame, the player controls the winged unicorn Robin Steele, who enters the Canterlot Castle in order to claim princess Twilight Sparkle as his rightful bride. On each of the ten randomly-generated floors, Robin must find a staircase to take him further upwards. On his way Robin is menaced by crowds of palace guards, whom he must avoid, or knock out with his magical mallet. Coming in close contact with the guards causes loss of health, but each floor contains a heart pickup which restores two units of health and extends the maximum length of the health bar by one unit. On the final floor, Robin must defeat the boss, Flash Sentry, before he can see his love.

The Flash version (which is v2.0 of the game) has four difficulty modes (Easy, Normal, Crazy, Hardcore), each with a different number of floors to traverse. The Crazy difficulty has an additional boss and a different ending. Hardcore difficulty is initially hidden, and finding out how to unlock it is up to the player.
