Rue Noir
Description
Rue Noir was a Swedish browser based adventure game that took place in a dark retro futuristic Stockholm of 1994. It consisted of twelve chapters and a new chapter was launched every fourteen days. The player takes control of private detective Sam Novak who after a night of heavy drinking receives a message from an old silent film star who gives the protagonist a mission. The task ahead is to find her husband who works for a secret intelligence service and who has been missing for six months. The phone call is the player's only clue to begin with and he has to find out more by questioning suspects, searching for clues and interacting with press and police.
The game was free to play and was financed with in-game product placements.
