Magic Table Chess

Magic Table Chess is the first game in Experiment 7's Magic Table VR strategy game series. In it, players can play chess against a variety of AI difficulty levels as well as online against other players. Once players put on their Rift or Gear VR headset, they find themselves sitting at a gaming table in a variety of locations, like a study on a mountain lake, the lounge of a starship, or a meditation room in a valley of floating islands.

Players communicate during games using VOIP and an Avatar system that uses head-tracking to show how the player is moving when they talk. This leads to a sense of social presence, making it feel like you're sitting in the room with the player you're playing against. Players can pick from a variety of avatars and can customize the art on the walls, which includes classical masterpieces from the National Gallery of Art, art from the artists who worked on the game, and posters from Penny Arcade and Extra Credits.
