Fan games related to the Commander Keen series.

Technically speaking, most Commander Keen games are "mods", or modifications - complex patches applied to original games, which use their technical resources, but substitute a new plot and graphics. Because of this, they are DOS games and require the exe file of the original game (on which a particular mod is based) to run - if the particular Commander Keen game is not shareware, the file needs to be provided by the player (in case of mods based on shareware games, such as "Commander Keen 4: Secret of the Oracle", the original file - in this case "keen4e.exe" - is usually included in the download).

There is also a large group of fan games which aren't directly based on any original game, usually for Windows system. However, fewer of them have reached completion stage.
