Ryan Barnard started at Sony Online Entertainment as an Associate Game Designer and was with the company from November 2003 to October 2005. He contributed to EverQuest II, focusing on content design and encounter scripting.

Following his tenure at Sony, Ryan joined EA Mythic as a Game Designer in 2006, where he worked on Warhammer Online: Age of Reckoning (2008), specifically focusing on content design and implementation for various game pairings and the Realm versus Realm strike team.

Ryan then moved to Crytek, where he served as Lead Game Designer from September 2008 to July 2011, based in Budapest. During this time, he also held the role of Senior Melee Combat Systems Designer.

He then served for a total of 4 years and 6 months at Massive Entertainment. Initially working there as Associate Creative Director from September 2011 to February 2013, he later assumed the position of Game Director from February 2013 to February 2016.

Ryan joined Io-Interactive in Denmark as a Game Director from March 2016 to July 2017, working on the Hitman franchise.

He then transitioned to Wargaming, where he served as the Design Development Director from September 2017 to June 2021, based in Cyprus. In this role, he played a crucial role in driving the development of design strategies for the company's gaming projects.

Continuing his journey, Ryan joined Ubisoft in Singapore, where he held the position of Game Director from June 2021 to May 2022 and then Senior Game Director from May 2022 to April 2023.

Presently, Ryan serves as the Design Director at CD Projekt Red since May 2023.
