Robynn M. Amy is a professional freelance musician and educator, specializing in low brass and jazz with a long history and great passion for video games and music technology. She is a two time alumnus of the prestigious Henry Mancini Institute in Los Angeles, CA, and a graduate of Berklee College of Music in Boston, MA, where she later served as an Instructor in the Brass and Ensemble Departments for 8 years. Robynn began her career in 2003 as a Quality Assurance Tester and later as Assistant Producer at Harmonix Music Systems, a music video game development company owned and staffed by engineers and professional musicians in Cambridge MA. Her work in video game development has garnered the following game credits: Antigrav (uncredited), Karaoke Revolution 1-3, Karaoke Revolution: Party, Karaoke Revolution: American Idol, Karaoke Revolution: Country, and Guitar Hero. She left to join Berklee's faculty in the summer of 2005 as one of the youngest faculty members. In 2006, she was selected by NPR and Berklee to represent the United States as lead trombonist for the European Youth Jazz Orchestra's 33-country European tour and final concert live at BBC Studios in Glasgow, Scotland, and was subsequently featured for her work on JazzSet with Dee Dee Bridgewater in March, 2007. Robynn joined Monterey Jazz Festival's year-round Traveling Clinician Program in the Fall of 2007 as the trombone artist and clinician, bringing jazz to the next generation of aspiring musicians throughout California's Monterey County. She has performed in the Red Sea Jazz Festival in Israel, and served as a band leader in the Heineken Jazz Festival in Puerto Rico and the Graded Jazz Festival in Brazil, as well as adjudicated for the Lionel Hampton Jazz Festival in Idaho, and Berklee College of Music's High School Jazz Festival in Boston. Robynn currently resides in Texas, travels extensively around the world for performances and masterclasses, and hopes to one day return to one of her life's greatest passions: video game development.
