Upon completing four years at the University of California: San Diego, Alberto Campo earned a Bachelor of Arts in Visual Arts with an emphasis on Computing and a minor in Spanish Literature. Enrolling in both Visual Arts and Spanish Literature programs exposed Alberto to the values and importance new media has on all aspects of society.
Alberto attempted to harness this creativity by controlling the airwaves thus resulting in a six month internship at Jammin' Z-90FM, a local hip-hop and R&B radio station. During this time, Alberto assisted in the production of audio tours and on-air promotional spots. Eventually, Clear Channel purchased the privately owned radio station.
In the Summer of 2002, Alberto Campo landed an entry level position as a Quality Assurance Tester at Midway Home Entertainment in Mira Mesa, Ca. At the time, Midway was currently developing major titles that would launch worldwide. Recognizing a possible area for growth and not being one to let opportunities pass him by, Alberto Campo, with the backing of management, created a localization department that would utilize his fluency in the Spanish language. In charge of the Castilian and Latin American Spanish translations, Alberto helped create localization documents that facilitated a quicker, accurate and timely turnaround in product support as it pertained to Spanish languages. Ultimately the localization QA team supported Spanish, Italian, French and German. With the European video gaming market continuously growing, the demand for quality rose as well.
Unfortunately, all that was well at Midway did not remain that way. Amicably, Alberto parted ways with Midway and relocated to the Los Angeles area, where the job market is larger and opportunities seemed abound. Alberto Campo eventually secured employment with THQ Inc. in Calabasas Hills, Ca.
Beginning in 2003, Alberto has been credited with the Quality Assurance aspects of many high profile titles. His experiences working in conjunction with larger brand names such as Nickelodeon, Disney and Pixar has taught Alberto about the intricacies of partnerships and the need for communication between all departments.
