I was the reference photographer for Thief: Deadly Shadows, a task I did for free for almost two years. I am a big fan of the Thief series, and contacted Ion Storm directly, to offer my services. I figured that living in Edinburgh (as I do), I would see more useful texture reference surfaces than they would in Texas! I've recognised some of my photographs from the game, but all of them were altered considerably, for various reasons.
Most of the photos were take with a HP 315 digital camera - not a particularly good model, but good enough for most purposes. I took almost 2,000 photos in total. They included my name in the end credits and in the manual, and sent me a copy of the game, for which I was very grateful.
