Biography edit · view history
Lucio Fulci (1927-1996) was an Italian film director specializing in horror movies and gialli. His most famous movie was 1979’s Zombi II, a zombie movie riding the coattails of George A. Romero’s 1978 film, Dawn of the Dead. Other Fulci films include 1972’s Don't Torture a Duckling (Non si sevizia un paperino), 1981’s The Beyond (E tu vivrai nel terrore - L'aldilà aka Seven Doors of Death), and 1990’s somewhat autobiographical A Cat In the Brain (Un Gatto nel cervello).
Recurring themes in Fulci’s films include chain whippings and severe eye trauma. Due to explicit visual effects, various edited versions are available under a variety of names and ratings. Fulci himself used a wide range of pseudonyms including Lucille Folon, Louis Fuller, and Jerry Madison.
