In 1993, Eric Fernandes was studying for a degree in Communications at USCD. While working on a multimedia project, he met Shadi Almassizadeh, whose brother Farshid had recently finished work on The Journeyman Project. Due to its success, both were hired at Presto Studios to oversee the burgeoning animation department. Fernandes, known as “Kid” at Presto, worked for 4 years as 3D animator on The Journeyman Project 2 & 3, and Gundam 0079: The War for Earth.

Following his work at Presto, Fernandes decided to set off on his own, moving to Seattle to form Dreadnought Pictures, Inc. (1997-2000). Since then he has been working on a variety of projects for the Internet, television and film. He worked on numerous films, including Planet of the Apes, Star Wars: Episode II – Attack of the Clones, The Lord of the Rings: The Two Towers, The Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King, Shrek 2, and most recently Bee Movie.

He was Lighting TD at Industrial Light and Magic and Lighting TD/Sequence Lead at Weta Digital, and is currently CG Supervisor at DreamWorks Animation (2009).
