René was born 1985 in Baden, Austria, and entered university in 2005 studying Japanese at the Department of East Asian Studies (University of Vienna) until February 2007. He then entered Square Enix as a Game Tester.
He worked on Valkyrie Profile 2 as a German Language Tester and several games in evaluation, then worked as a Tester for Final Fantasy XI until September 2007 and returned to university in October 2007 to finish his Japanese studies.
After graduating in July 2008 he started with Nintendo of Europe and is currently working as a freelance Japanese-German translator.
