Biography edit · view history

After high school Rob entered into military service for the US Navy. He was an Electrician's Mate 2nd Class (SW) aboard the USS Constellation (CV-64) when he decided to leave the Navy after 6 years. The day he got out of the Navy he joined the Army National Guard... the part-time thing... one weekend a month and two weeks a year deal. He was a Field Artillery Crewman (13B) while in the Guard.

After doing nothing for a few months after leaving the active Navy and during his time with the National Guard, Rob got hooked into doing some external beta testing for Activision's Visioneers. During his external testing days he playtested the following games:

Teen Digital Diva Asteroids, Shanghai: Second Dynasty, and Heavy Gear II.

The beta testers that lived near Activision were asked if they would like to work temporarily for the '98 holiday season. He happened to live in the LA area and joined the ranks of the Customer Support Dept answering customers' phone calls and emails... troubleshooting (helping people get their games to work). Rob was offered a permanent position in Jun '99.

While at Activision Rob did some QA time on Vigilante 8: Second Offense (N64 version) and Heretic II. He also did a production testing tour on Interstate '82. But his main job at Activision was in Customer Support. Rob was the Customer Support Escalation and Information Support Lead... the tech guy behind CS basically. Rob left Activision in Nov 2003.

In 2006 and after 8 years in the Guard, Rob decided to get out and join the Navy Reserve. As a Gunner's Mate he was the LPO for his unit (NR CART III DET C) out of NAS Lemoore. Rob was promoted to Chief Gunner's Mate in 2010.

Rob graduated from CSU Fresno with a BS in Business Administration - Management in 2009. While attending school as a full time student he also worked for the IRS and Del Monte Foods Co.

Currently, Rob is working full time on this site for GameFly, moderating the GameFly app, being a Navy Chief and most importantly... being a dad.
