Nellie Hughes is a veteran game developer who has been in the industry since 2005. Starting her career making cave maps on City of Villains, and then moving on City of Heroes updates for her first few years at Cryptic Studios. While there, she was able to contribute and own many zones in Champions Online, and help get Star Trek Online out the door.

After leaving Cryptic Studios in 2010, she went and joined 38 Studios and was a Content Design Supervisor, leading multiple zone teams until the companies ultimate demise in 2012.

When that was over, she joined ArenaNet as a Game Designer, designing the monetization model for the VIP system on the Chinese release of Guild Wars 2, then joining the content team for the first expansion named Heart of Thorns - working and helping lead the expansion map Auric Basin. After that, she was a Living World lead - making sure the zone Ember Bay was a success.

She then moved into a Design Management role for a few years before leaving in 2019 for Undead Labs as a Senior Design Manager. As of April 2021, she works at Monolith Productions as a Design Manager.
