Mark was born on 31 May 1975 in Horsham but moved soon after and so doesnt remember it really. His formative years were spent in God's waiting room, commonly referred to as Eastbourne. Having tired of this he decided to move to London, taking a five year stopover in Surrey where he discovered GCSEs, A levels, alcohol and women. Only two of these things have proven to be useful since.
Once in London, Mark kept himself busy by taking a degree in computing at Imperial College, sub-editing the local student newspaper and helping run the student union. This kept him occupied for four years, the degree in question being a particularly poncey Masters course. Narrowly escaping a job in research with a leading lightbulb manufacturer, he then lurked in Soho for 18 months working for Sony Computer Entertainment Europe, where he met a lot of nice people and created a cartoon Cow.
He was then lured away to work for Metrowerks, which involved supporting compilers and analysis tools with emails and trips abroad, and to Scotland. After a mere 13 months Mark's head was turned by the chance to join the Blade 2 programming team at 'the Foot'. He has only just started and is already causing confusion by sitting next to another Mark. All offers of a nickname will be gratefully received. In his spare time Mark enjoys cooking, movies, drinking and decorating. His influences include Quake, Star Wars, Spaced, TV Go Home and All Your Base Are Belong To Us. He satisfies his need for world fame by writing articles for (and generally appearing in) trade magazines Edge and Develop.
